About this site.

An important cog in the lead up to a watch purchase, is the research. There are some excellent resources on the internet, but in my experience, they are either super slick or very fact heavy, I will read them all regardless of course, but hopefully I can add another element.

I’m looking for the feeling of owning the object, and ideally, some nice photographs to go with it. Sure, I'll mention the specs and touch on the movements etc, but there are other sites that will give you far more info about such things. The feeling of want and appreciation, that is what this site is attempting to provide you with.

It’s early days and I’ll be writing and photographing my own collection for the foreseeable future, but I welcome feedback (be nice) as to if you felt this approach is useful for you, the researcher. Will that change this pet project? Maybe, maybe not – but I’ll appreciate it all the same.

Where to in the future? Who knows, this is a passion that is extremely hard on the wallet so perhaps one day, I’ll have the opportunity to write about watches I don’t own, but would like to.

My name is Esbjörn, I was born and raised in Sweden but eventually settled near Melbourne, Australia. I have a passion for photography. Travel, macro and plant photography mainly…but when I get the chance, classic cars and …you guessed it, watches.

As they say, the devil’s in the detail and perhaps that’s more applicable to wristwatches than any other type of jewellery (let’s face it, who needs a watch these days).
