Artem NATO straps, worth the cash?19/3/2022 The NATO strap is probably still around mainly since it's features so prominently in Bond movies. They've never been my favourites to wear but this could change. Read my review of Artem NATO straps here.
Robotoys will display your watch18/3/2022 Fancy your very own robot butler to display your priced wrist watch possessions? MB&F will help you with that, so long as you realise it's not a robot that will talk, walk or do anything apart from look good displaying your watch on your shelf.

Dietrich SD-1 review16/3/2022 I’ve waited a long time to handle this watch, it was quite the experience opening up even this review example without original packaging and spare straps. I genuinely think this is one of the most original and interesting watches that’s come out in this century, at least for a price that’s not just affordable but also a piece is also genuinely attainable. Check out my full video review.
Alcadus Opus 393/3/2022 The Alcadus Opus 39 is a tale of a failed Kickstarter campaign and a brave, confident and well resourced owner that went ahead anyway. Lucky for us since this is a great quality watch. And, it's just to about to be updated! Read my full article here.
Seitona, hit or miss?26/2/2022 The actual name of the model is the Speedtimer Solar Chronograph. It was released in conjunction with the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer mechanical chronograph which is large and thick and starts at USD 3000, the Solar model we have here retails for a little more attainable USD675. Let's check it out!
E.C.Andersson Calypso Denise20/2/2022 We have a watch here that stems from a beautiful harbour city on the westcoast of Sweden which is home to over 20,000 sailboats with at least as many sailors that may or may not go on raiding trips to Northumbria, so it’s probably not surprising that the watch looks a little, to me anyway, like a classic marine compass.
Check out my full video review here. Come to the shark side!13/2/2022 What happens when an established microbrand joins forces with one of the best watch modders around? If you’re ready to dive in to the world of underground watch modification combined with a well resourced microbrand with a ton of personality, then this video is for you.
Best reissue ever, Nivada BroadArrow4/2/2022 Luckily for us, the renewed interest in mechanical watches has seen Nivada rise like the phoenix from the ashes and this is one brand that definitely deserved a triumphant return. I was lucky to have my pick of models to borrow so I picked the Broadarrow Automatic 86001A which is both beautiful and capable. Check out my video review here.
It's here! Helm Miyako has landed28/1/2022 It’s finally here. The Helm Miyako. This hotly anticipated watch made its way from its maker to me here in Melbourne at a pace that felt like it was strapped to a sea cucumber and sent on its merry but meandering way. If you’re here, you may already be on the waitlist or perhaps you’re keen to. Should you bother, is it worth the agonizing wait? What exactly does $375 buy you? Let’s find out
Check out the review here! Oris ProPilot, my bronzed beauty22/1/2022 In 2021 Oris released a version of their Big Crown ProPilot date watch in bronze. I don’t know about you, but I felt it very much flew under the radar. It’s not a flashy watch, it doesn’t scream look at me and one could also argue that the bronze craze phase has perhaps passed. Even a quick search on YouTube and there are very few reviews on this one and I understand why, it’s a dark horse, literally.

Second Hour Mandala watch3/1/2022 The Second Hour Mandala got a lot of attention upon release. Here was a watch with a face like nothing we had ever really seen, and on photos at least, looked like an absolute home run. As it turns out, it both was and is since if you want one now, you’ll simply have to wait. Most of the colour combinations proved so popular for this small Melbourne, Australia brand that day jobs were put on hold and future plans were made.
How did the team cope with a small crisis and what's the finished product like? Read my full review here. The Alpinist was brought back to life in the 1990s under the prospex line and now has an inner bezel compass complication and a crown at the 4 position to operate this feature. The model I have in for review today is a far more recent, well loved and worn 00E1 A6 with the 6r15 movement and it’s in my favourite version, the green and gold. Check out the video review here.
