Sequent Elektron HR, full review

30/6/2022

Sequent Elektron HR on esbjorn.com.au
When a brand called Sequent released a campaign a few years ago for what they called the very first mechanical, non charge smartwatch, I certainly took notice. Unfortunately, it was yet another campaign that suffered long delays and there were plenty of people in the comments section that went to town on the Sequent team. I feel this was always going to happen with such new technology - but they did deliver in the end and you can now go and purchase a variety of colours and straps on their rather lovely website. Check out my video review here.

Ginault Silent Service, video review

22/6/2022

Ginault Silent Service esbjorn.com.au
Sometimes, I get to borrow a watch that I immediately fall in love with. It’s problematic when it happens since I’m still saving for that Speedmaster and I tend to buy all sorts of stupid gadgets all the time which means that my savings slush fund constantly bleeds...Check out my video review of this beautiful watch.

Meet the founder, Straton and Signum

19/6/2022

Kyle behind Straton and Signum is yet another passionate and fun Microbrand owner. Some of these interviews go for a bit longer than planned, but that's ok when they stay interesting! Enjoy meeting Kyle.

Fit for a Top Gun...

I like this model very much. It’s sad in a way that it’s looking like it may not be renewed after selling out the last few models. I’m guessing it’s been an expensive model to produce and perhaps it’s not been as popular as the diver options from RZE, and I guess from 100 other microbrands. Here's why you should still snap one up why you still can, read my full review.

Draken Kruger, African heart

5/6/2022

Draken Kruger review
The Draken Kruger is not just any watch, every purchase helps fight poachers that kill Rhinos and if that's not worthy of your support, I don't know what is. The fact that the watch is excellent value and beautiful build quality certainly helps also. Check out my video review here.

Nezumi Corbeau, Thor's hammer!

Swedish microbrand Nezumi strikes again, this time with a Viggen inspired watch with a Japanese movement. I take a closer video look at this beautiful vintage inspired watch from Stockholm HQ. See video here.

Meet the Microbrand owner - Draken

14/5/2022

Mike Blythe from Draken Watches
I had some time recently with one of Mike's watches, the Draken Tugela and after chatting further, we thought it would be fun to bring Mike's story to his fan base so here we are. An honest, detailed and fun chat getting to know Mike from Draken. Watch the video here.

Lorier Hydra II - Worn & Wound edition

8/5/2022

Lorier Hydra II Worn & Wound edition
It is shiny. It is gorgeous. Is it also perfect? Not quite, but I have to say, it's not left my wrist since it arrived. If you can get one, don't hesitate. Watch my full review here.

Draken Tugela GMT, the lume king

1/5/2022

Picture
Draken watches have been on my radar for a while and after chatting to Mike behind the brand, he sent me the colour version, amusingly named SuperBlue, of the Tugela GMT. The lume is outstanding as are many other small details, check out my full review here.

Zelos Spearfish, Carbon magic

26/4/2022

Picture
My first Zelos watch is this Spearfish. It was my first choice since it has some unusual but not too out there materials, a brilliant movement, it’s not too big and importantly – I managed to buy it without staying up to 2am and getting stressed out about having 5 minutes only to buy what I wanted. Artem NATO straps, worth the cash?

19/3/2022

Artem NATO strap on esbjorn.com.au
The NATO strap is probably still around mainly since it's features so prominently in Bond movies. They've never been my favourites to wear but this could change. Read my review of Artem NATO straps here.

Robotoys will display your watch

18/3/2022

Picture
Fancy your very own robot butler to display your priced wrist watch possessions? MB&F will help you with that, so long as you realise it's not a robot that will talk, walk or do anything apart from look good displaying your watch on your shelf.
